As the saying goes, behind every good agent there is a…wait…there isn’t a saying about that, but maybe there should be.  In my experience, the best agents understand the importance of delegating responsibilities and working in a team-based environment.

Simply put, it’s impossible to be everything to everyone and do everything at once.  Our clients deserve the absolute best, and that is why I am so grateful to Dana for the tenacity, attention to detail, and organizational skills that she brings to her role, which could best be described as a General Manager for the team.

Aside from acting as my editor/advisor/auditor, reviewing every contract and detail to ensure that I don’t make a mistake, Dana keeps all of us on track.  She was initially licensed in 2000 and has almost a decade of experience managing the behind-the-scenes details that are necessary for a team like ours to function effectively.

Of course, a big part of this is keeping all the involved parties in a transaction informed, up-to-date, and on time.  Dana (Early) lives up to her name every day, as her proactive, anticipatory nature allows her to identify and resolve small problems before they become issues.

Bad puns aside, one of the biggest advantages our clients receive as a result of our relationship with Dana is that she maintains a comprehensive list of vendors and service providers. One of her main goals is to alleviate the stress our buyers and sellers experience. Dana achieves this goal by performing the following services:

  • Coordinates moves
  • Schedules repairs
  • Locates vendors to take care of every conceivable necessity

After the work is done, Dana follows up to make sure the job was satisfactory.  She even maintains a rating system for each vendor to remember how well they performed.  If someone doesn’t do a good job for a client, it’s highly unlikely they will get a second chance!

I’ve known Dana for over 25 years and she was my first assistant. She can occasionally seem quiet but that’s because she’s an active listener and thinks carefully before she speaks. There is nothing shy about Dana, especially when it comes to protecting our group or the interests of our clients.  If something isn’t going the way it should or if someone drops the ball, they quickly learn who the real boss is!

Dana is fiercely loyal and protective. In many ways, she is our team’s Momma Bear.  I once told an agent who wanted to join our team that Dana would need to issue her stamp of approval first…let’s just say it didn’t go that well!  Ha!

Before I make a business move, Dana and I have a meeting to review the pros and cons.  There’s no way I could have grown this team without her efforts and input.  Dana is a confidant and a TRUE friend, the definition of a "ride or die" and the glue that holds The Mariah Johnson Group together.  At this point, it should go without saying that she is also a tremendous asset to all of our clients, whether buying, selling, or investing.
